Chosen Solution
I have taken out my battery to use it straight from the AC power adapter (I had bad battery swelling so I took it out to replace it down the line). Well, idly, the macbook is fine. As soon as I run any task, it decides to go into shutdown. Any solutions? I am also currently trying to wipe the entire disk. During bootup after the reinstall, it is in a boot loop. Is this because of the lack of battery?
Sorry guy, you’re chasing a phantom problem! As hard as you try you’ll not over come the root issue of trying to run a system which was designed to have a battery without! Your system’s charger is not able to supply the full power the system calls for when running heavy tasks, it needs the battery to fill-in the power when the demand calls for it. FYI: Even the newest 2019 systems can’t run without a battery for long either! The best way to think this is the pipe feeding your home of water which is just large enough to run one shower and flush one toilet at the same time point. Now what happens when the other shower and toilet and all of the sinks all call for water at the same time? Somebody is not going to be happy! As you can outstrip the supply coming from the street. If you live in New York you can see old water towers on the roofs of residential and older office buildings. In modern buildings today they are often hidden inside. So during the night they get topped off so the morning and day during heavy water demand the water is supplied from the tank not the street!
As the demand of the whole city would outstrip the giant pipes feeding it with fresh water! Now think about the sewer lines! Boy they can be really loaded up!
It should run ok without the battery. It’s not ideal but it should work. Try reset SMC and PRAM. Apple has guides on how to do this.
