Hello everyone Today I spelled a splash of water on my keyboard. It immediately shut down on its’ own, then I preceded with drying it up with towel paper and a cooling Fan upside down. A few minutes later it was back to normal, fully functional when I turned it back on. Now, after a while the battery ran out and to my surprise when I plugged in the charger it made weird sounds from the keyboard. Once I unplug it in, the sound stops. notably, after i plugged it in the first time there wasn’t any sounds, and it turned back on normally. Once it got unplugged the computer shut down of course (due to low battery) and when I plugged it in again those weird sounds started and it wont turn on again…. I am not sure what to do next and how to fix the damage done.
You shouldn’t have turned it back on so quickly. The minimum recommended drying time is 1 hour, better leaving your Macbook to day for 24 hours is preferred, it takes a couple of days to fully dry out though. At this point, since you turned it back on, I think the squeezing noise was probably the worst part - that confirmed that the water hit circuitry somewhere. My suggestion is that do nothing on it at this time, wait a few days more and then try to charge and turn it on, see how everthing will be going then.
