Chosen Solution
My buddy slammed his fist into the keyboard and broke the Lcd. After he did that the system shutoff and now won’t post. I’ve replaced the Lcd, checked that power was actually getting to the motherboard with a multimeter, checked ram with a known good stick, and I cleared the cmos battery. I’m pretty new to all of this, but it seems like I’m running out of options. The only thing I believe it could be now is the cpu or gpu was damaged. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
It may not necessarily be the CPU or GPU, could be any part of the board. Based on your description it sounds like quite a bit of force was involved. I would give it a good visual one over, but could be something within the board that you can’t see. Are you getting any signs of life out of it? Aside from confirming that power is coming in?
