I bought some Crucial DDR3L 1866 GHz 8 GB RAM modules for my MacBook Pro mid 2012 13” (non-retina) by mistake instead of a 1600 MHz. Can I use it any ways?

Apple systems are very picky about memory. You can install faster then factory RAM in many cases, but non Mac certified memory is sometimes more prone to crashing. It should work, but I’m going to make that recommendation with the caution the system may not be stable since it probably isn’t Mac certified. If you choose to install it and the memory has a PC3L code, just remember you put that memory in for troubleshooting purposes. If you aren’t comfortable with that risk, return the memory unopened. The modules will be downclocked to the maximum your CPU supports, so you will not be able to take advantage of the full 1866MHz speed.
