Chosen Solution

i have a 6s which has been solid and reliable. it was charging overnight and this morning, it was unresponsive. i saw the normal home screen, but it would not respond to taps on the icons or on the home button. holding the power button to get “slide to power off” did not work at all. after trying all this for about 10 minutes i set it down to take care of other things. 15 minutes later i came back and the screen was dark. holding either the power button or the home button did not wake it up. plugging it into power i got the familiar double buzz (it was on vibrate mode. off vibrate mode it makes the customary “ding” sound) so i know it at least recognizes power input, so it’s not completely dead (mostly dead, maybe).
when i plug it into my laptop, neither itunes, nor 3uTools recognizes that a phone is connected.
if i hold down the home and power button, i can hear the photo app click like it’s taking a picture. how would you go about troubleshooting this?
Thanks

This sounds more like a physical issue with the screen no longer displaying anything or responding to touch. When you are clicking both of the home button and power/sleep button, it is taking a screenshot, so the software still seems to be functioning fine. If you’re able to, lift the screen on the device and check the connections between the screen and the logic board. Clean out the connectors with some isopropyl alcohol if possible and test again. If the screen is still not displaying anything, it may have suffered some physical damage or may simply just be faulty, and will need to be replaced. If you’re confident the phone didn’t sustain any major physical damage, hopefully disconnecting and reconnecting it will do the trick, otherwise a replacement may be the only option.
