I have a 6s. I had a smashed screen so I ordered a generic replacement from eBay. The ribbon cable connectors did not align the same way the factory cables did. I had to push one cable behind another and mangle things so every cable plugged into the correct spot. Is this just a symptom of buying cheap parts or did I do something else wrong? Also now it won’t charge and has a little light area near the top right of the screen. This is just a spare phone so it’s not critical. I was just trying repair for the first time. If this is just a poorly made part where can I get a directly compatible part? Thanks

Sometimes you have to move one flex behind the other but since you should also bring the camera flex assembly over from the old screen it is not too much trouble to sort out. Changing the screen should not have affected the charging. The only circuit you should have touched on that would be the battery. Check the battery connector and the charge port connector. Does your PC recognise the phone? You shouldn’t have a light area on the screen.  You have purchased a really cheap screen for this to happen.
