Hi @glfaisal To possibly get your phone working correctly again you need to clean it properly first, by dis-assembling it and using Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ to clean all the affected parts as outlined below. Once you’re satisfied that it has been cleaned properly, test the phone and check what happens The impurities in the water causes corrosion and provides circuit paths for the electricity which were not in the phone’s operating design and could damage the components. The corrosion is ongoing until it has been cleaned away First do not charge or try to turn on your phone and then remove the battery so as to minimize any further damage. Next you need to dis-assemble the phone and clean all the affected parts using Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ (available at electronics parts stores) to remove all traces of corrosion and water. Do not use “rubbing alcohol” as in some cases this is <70% IPA, can contain additives and is not as effective. If you do have to use it, check the label to verify the amount of IPA. The higher the percentage of IPA the better. Here is a link that describes the process. Electronics Water Damage As always with electronics, especially surface mounted PCBs be gentle when handling and especially when brushing away the corrosion. You do not want to remove any components from the board. You will most probably also have to remove any shields covering the components as water may have got in under them as well. Here is a link to the ifixit iPhone X Repair guides, which may be of some help. Hopefully after you have done all this it might possibly work correctly again. If this process seems too daunting, take your phone to a reputable, professional mobile phone repair service experienced in water damage repair and ask for a quote for a repair. If you decide to do this, do it sooner than later.

Hey, the new sensor will not help you get Face ID back, because it is not paired to the phone. If you want Face ID to work, you have to swap the flood illuminator module over to the new cable. This requires some skill and a hot air gun. Since the professionals in your city cannot help you, you could either send the phone to someone like iPad Rehab /STS Telecom (be sure to tell them that you just need the cable fixed) or install the new cable (keep the old one safe) and live without Face ID for now.

If the isopropyl alcohol doesn’t fix it or you don’t have it due to a pandemic, you can mail it in to Jessa Jones (iPad Rehab). If you do have isopropyl alcohol, then take the logic board out, soak it and with a tooth brush, just scrub it.
