Hi guys,Have a 2019 macbook pro 16" that I bought to sell. Battery was working fine when I tested it before sending it out to an international customer. Customer received the mbp and said that the battery doesn’t charge. I’ve received it back and have tried to replace the flex cable of the battery and that has not fixed the issue. I’ve done an smc and pram reset etc too. Here’s a screenshot of the battery info

Thanks in advance

It appears the charging logic is messed up as we can see the power adapter is plugged in but the power to charge the battery is not getting through at 0 Watts! We can also see the battery has no power! And yet the design capacity is 91.1% and the battery age is reasonable (May 2020). The maker of the battery looks odd as I had thought Simplo was the maker for Apples batteries I don’t remember seeing DSY before. It’s also possible Apple has multiple suppliers so don’t read too much into that. Do you see any signs the battery was replaced as that would be the important thing. Carefully disconnect the battery and press the power button to fully discharge the logic board. Now connect the battery and the charger with an inline power meter like USB-C Power Meter leave the system off and monitor the power meter, leave it off if it has a steady load, if the meter is showing the load is cycling then your charging logic needs deeper inspection. Reference Steps 8 & 9 in this guide MacBook Pro 16" 2019 Teardown checking around the Intel JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 controllers (2) and Texas Instruments TPS51980B power controller. Do you see any liquid damage or corrosion? If its charging leave the system to charge for a good four hours then turn the system on and check CoconutBattery again what is it showing? Post a fresh snapshot if it’s different. Update (12/09/2021) How odd! Having to replace the battery on such a new system, sounds like the charging logic was bad and the person decided to put a fresh battery in either thinking that was the issue or putting it in so they could unload the system as working. While this is not your issue with the charging, I do spy a missing latch on the fan ribbon cable connection! Here you can see it in the up position. Looking at your first image the left side connector has its latch and the right is missing.

At this point this will take someone with deep skills to diagnose which chip is bad and replace it.
