Have a 2016 Macbook 12 inch retina which has a black screen that wont go away. The computer boots up and all normal sounds can be heard but no image is displayed. I contacted apple and did all the resets but to no avail. I went to a authorized apple service provider and they stated I need a new LCD after connecting the laptop to a monitor. They didn’t open the laptop or check anything. Would I really have to replace the LCD on this laptop or is there a cable that needs to be replaced that could fix this issue?
Sadly the newest MacBook’s are less serviceable than the older models. You only have one option replace the display assembly, nothing serviceable beyond that as the cables are soldered!
