Hi all, Customer cracked the screen on her A1398 2015 Macbook Pro. We accidentally ordered the 2013/2014 LCD rather than the 2015… all the connections are the same and it fits perfectly, but when we turn it on, the screen has no display. The screen is working, but the back light is NOT. When you hold a flashlight to the screen, you can see it. Is there something wrong with the logic board? Or is the 2013/2014 LCD truly not capable of working on the 2015? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Best advise here is to order the correct part.
My father had the same problem with his Macbook Pro. I fixed it just by turning it on and letting him typ in his password. I believe after that it just fixed itself (it’s been a while since it happened). Maybe try changing the brightness of the screen after logging in. I don’t know if this will work for your clients Macbook but I hope it does.
