My girlfriends macbook randomly shut down yesterday while listening to music. The next day after watching a movie, I close the lid to my macbook and go to sleep, the next day mine is not working either. Both laptops don’t turn on. I’ve watched every video and read every article. Tried everything. SMC reset, power button holding, disconnecting the battery, jump starting with and without the keyboard connected. Nothing works. At the moment when it’s plugged in the charge light is a steady amber. When you press the power button the fan comes on and only the fan. If you press it again the fan goes off. Can’t figure it out. Unstable power supply? Overheating? Change of climate? Any help would be appreciated.
Try starting in recovery mode and run the Apple hardware test.
