What is the cause of 1/4 of my Samsung 75” LED tv to be completely white? Would it be the T-Con board, cabling or bad panel? I’ve looked online but wanted to get a second opinion. Watched one video and they say it could be ribbon cable, panel or t-con. Image of screen is attached. Thanks for the help.
Hi @austinv Being a section of all white may mean a problem with the tcon board or perhaps that section of the tab board above where the problem is having a gate driver turned permanently on. If the tab board ribbon cable connection to the screen was disconnected the screen would be black. Looking at the image you posted it appears to be only an 1/8th and not a 1/4 of the screen so maybe there are only 8 tab ribbon cables that connect to the panel itself which would help you to identify the section of the board but these connections are very delicate if you go to touch them so that you can look at the tab board etc, so beware. You could try changing the tcon board first and check if that resolves the problem. Try sourcing from a supplier that accepts returns for a minimal restocking fee etc in case it isn’t the problem. How old is the TV, just in case it may still be covered by the manufacturer’s 12 month warranty?
