Hello… I had a problem that I was facing gohst touchs with my Iphone 6 plus, and sometime there was an area where the touche became unresponsive. I tried to reconnect the Flex cables, the ghost touches disappeared, however , the area with the unresponsive touch became more wider, and now it’s permanent, could this happen because of a damaged touch Digitizer ?
Touch IC isn’t the issue here, if it was at fault the whole screen would stop responding completely intermittently / randomly until lock, unlock phone or turning the phone off and on. This is probably just a faulty screen or physically damaged FPC touch screen connector on the logic board.
touch IC problems with the six plus are common. when you reconnected the flex cables (pushing) on the logic board it made a temp connection. The touch IC can be repaired by a microsoldering technician or the phone will be replaced at apple for 149.99. https://ifixit.org/blog/8309/iphone-6-pl…. If the touch problem started prior to your flex cable adjustment rarely does a new screen correct the problem.
